"Moonchild is a Grandma Now"
|
The year I turned 50, I also became a grandmother for the first time. I began to notice the way older women were perceived by society and myself as well, and began the "Crone Project". I want people to realize that we are the same on the inside now as when we were 15 or 35.

This piece was done for a breast cancer awareness exhibit at the BC Craft Association Gallery in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Amazon women cut off one breast to better hold their bow. They were known to be strong and powerful women. We need to have the strength of those ancient women to fight the enemy of cancer.
